ADT Alarms Keep You Connected

Monday, September 6th, 2010

If you are thinking about improving your home security in Manchester, you may want to consider getting an ADTmonitored alarm.

Such devices can help give you a real sense of safety because they reduce feelings of isolation. This may be particularly beneficial if you are in a high-crime area or have experienced a break-in before, although they can benefit anyone.

These burglar alarms in Manchester and elsewhere around the country connect your property to ADT’s Alarm Receiving Centre.

When your device is set, a number of sensors are placed around your premises at locations considered to be particularly at risk.

If these are triggered – for example, if someone walks past – the alarm sends a signal down your telephone line and ADT will pick up the message. At this stage, the key holders or the relevant emergency services will be called.

Meanwhile, if your smoke sensor goes off, the fire response will be contacted.

Having such home security in Manchester can help provide real peace of mind and means your residence will be watched over 24-hours a day, even when you are away.

And if you are worried about these burglar alarms in Manchester being triggered by pets, fear not. They can be tailored work around animals.

For example, if the pet is kept in a secure environment such as a kitchen overnight, a door contact can be installed on the back door rather than a motion sensor, so the creature can move around freely without causing panic.

Keep your car safe

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

As a nation we are possibly more security conscious about our cars than we are about our houses. The majority of us wouldn’t even dream of leaving our cars unlocked when we pop into a shop, even when we are parked directly outside it. Equally, most of us would not even think about locking our houses when we were outside in the greenhouse, for instance. Cars, of course, have their own built-in security systems which are, in the main, factory fitted. They are automatically alarmed and immobilised at the click of a button making them safe when we park them in our garage at night.

Interestingly they are not as safe as you would think. A study using a reformed car thief showed that from a whole range of different cars fitted with alarms, crook locks, or home made safety devices, the ones that took longest to steal were the ones with a home-made device.

It is logical really, after all a professional thief will have bought and practiced on virtually everything on the market that relates to car safety. However, put your car in a garage at night and it is another barrier to the thief and here at SecurityCAM, we know that if you install burglar alarms on a garage then all but the most determined car thief will leave your car well alone. Combine this with CCTV cameras and a burglar is extremely unlikely to attempt anything.

Depending on the location of your garage, it can be possible to fit an ADT alarm that covers both your garage and your home, or CCTV security cameras to cover both.
